Oh, Happy Day!

Words spoke by Linda when she arrived at Stitch and Chat. I couldn't have said it better myself. After a whirlwind of holidays, Stitch and Chat is back on track.
Congratulations go to Diane who is now the proud grandmother of a little girl.  We can expect to see lots of pink knitted goodies in the future.

She hadn't picked up her knitting in a while (echoed by all who attended today).  Here is her cabled afghan knit with bulky alpaca. It is super soft.  Diane, what is the pattern?
Lois began a Noble Cowl.  She started it on her own and explained that there were some mistakes in it and she was ok with that.  There is a 15 stitch repeat; sometimes there are 14 stitches and sometimes there are 16 stitches.

At some point she would like to knit something 100% right, this project was not it.  I would like to point out that her reading glasses match her knitting. ;)
Major points for Elizabeth's son, David.  He went to Northampton Wools (on his own) and enlisted the help of the shop ladies to pick out a pattern, yarn, and shawl pin for Elizabeth.  We were awestruck, let me tell you.

The pattern is Swirl Shawl and the yarn is Jojoland Melody (light fingering, 100% Wool, 220 yards).  He got her colors just right.  Plus a shawl pin!  Impressive.
Elizabeth is going to knit another Koigu Linen Stitch scarf, this time for her husband.
She is revisiting the Berroco Caffe sweater.  She is knitting it with Rowan Lima (worsted, 84% Alpaca, 8% Merino, 8% Nylon, 109 yards) and Berroco Nanuk (super bulky, 67% Wool, 33% Nylon, 70 yards).
Linda is finishing up (a modified version of) Ann Norling's Crib-Blanket-Afghan II: Feather & Fan, Fantastic Eyelet pattern in stash yarn she inherited from her mother.  She is revisiting a sweater she began last year.  I'll add the pattern name next time.

And so it goes, we are off to a knitterly New Year!
