Stitch and Chat This Week

Jane is ready to sew her Simple Knit Shrug that she knit in Anzula Cricket (DK: 80% Merino, 10% Nylon, 10% Cashmere, 250 yards).  This is a great easy dressing accessory.

She is coming to her last skein of Jade Sapphire 12ply Cashmere (Bulky: 100% Cashmere, 60 yards) for her Fisherman's Rib Scarf pattern. As she showed Elena, the two of them discussed the deliciousness of knitting with cashmere. It is second only to wearing it.

Elena came for the first time with last years Two Harbors Poncho knit with Blue Sky Fibers Extra (Aran: 55% Alpaca, 45% Merino, 218 yards). She wanted to find out where she was and finish. Happily, Nancy wore hers in and that inspired Elena to finish.

I don't know what it is about this poncho.  Every time I write the name or search for it, I consistently write Twin Harbors Poncho.  I cannot get the name straight in my head.  When I think, 'is it Two or Twin, I think... no two is wrong, it's twin'. Is there even a place called Twin Harbors? But I digress...

Eleanor finished the ribbing of her Customfit sweater and wanted to discuss how to put in twin areas of ribbing on back without disrupting the shaping in the pattern. You can see the markers for the shaping fall outside the area where we placed the twin rib sections.

Eileen checked in before sewing the F368 DeAire Infinity Scarf in super bulky yarn. Should she ignore the ripple when sewing it? How should she sew it? The answers were yes and mattress stitch.

She finished the border on her Anemone Poncho in Artyarns Regal Silk (DK: 100% Silk, 163 yards) and Artyarns Beaded Silk & Sequins (DK: 100% Silk with Silk-Strung Sequins and Murano Glass Beads, 110 yards).

Mary revisited her Customfit Tunic knit with Classic Elite Yarns Seedling (Aran: 100# Cotton, 110 yards).

She knit up a storm since our Sock Sweater Class on Saturday. Mary finished the body of her Sock Yarn Sweater knit with Artyarns Merino Cloud (Fingering: 80% Merino, 20% Cashmere, 436 yards). She wanted to catch up to the class and begin the sleeves.  Well done!

Nancy swatched for the 21 Color Slouch hat in Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok (Worsted: 100% Wool, 123 yards).  This is a really cute hat kit.

Cindy worked on her baby hat.

And at Wednesday's Stitch and Chat...

Lo and behold, Michelle finished her Exploration Station knit with Anzula Dreamy (Fingering: 75% Merino, 15% Cashmere, 10% Silk, 385 yards) and one skein of Koigu PPPM (Fingering: 100% Merino, 175 yards). Very sneaky if you ask me.

Lois cast on for my Fallen Halo Cowl in Artyarns Cashmere 5 and Cashmere Glitter. Yarn yumminess.  I think this may be my Thanksgiving Day project.

What will be on your hooks and needles for Thanksgiving?  It has to be easy enough to follow while cooking and carrying on conversation.  Think about it.
