Wednesday's Stitch and Chat

Michelle is getting her swatches and projects in order before heading down to Florida.

She got gauge with for Suit with the actual needle the pattern called for with Cascade Ultra Pima (DK: 100% Pima Cotton, 220 yards).  This getting gauge with the needle stated is new territory for us.  She's usually a needle up.

She started Brickless, the current Westport Yarns Knit-a-long, with Artyarns Zara Hand-dyed (DK: 100% Merino, 240 yards).

Here is her swatch for Boxy with Rowan Panama (Fingering: 55% Rayon, 33% Cotton, 12% Linen, 148 yards).  Boxy can be knit flat or in the round.  Gauge knit in flat stockinette can vary from circular stockinette.  Michelle's was no exception.  Her flat gauge was 22 sts/4" and her circular stockinette was 26 sts/4".  She'd prefer to knit it in the round so she's going to go up several needle sizes to get gauge.

She's knitting an afghan as a gift, the Beautiful in Blues Cabled Afghan in Plymouth Select Superwash Worsted (Worsted: 100% Merino, 218 yards).  Nice pattern stitch.

Irene is knitting with Adrienne Vittadini Paloma yarn (Bulky: 83% Alpaca, 14% Wool, 3% Nylon, 78).  She knitting a modified version of the Bubble Wrap Cap.

During the session, Michelle finished her "All About The Yarn" Jacket knit with Artyarns Ensemble 4 (Aran: 50% Silk, 50% Cashmere, 200 yards).  She made it longer than the pattern called for and went into a fourth skein.  This yarn is incredibly luxurious and wonderful.

Elaine has washed and blocked her Knit, Swirl Jacket and began the seam today.  It was slow going, as she wants it to be really precise.  The yarn is Plymouth Select Superwash Worsted (Worsted: 100% Merino, 218 yards). This is a terrific yarn.  It washed up soft and squishy with good stitch definition.
