Am I having a hot flash?

I work on the college afghan at night.  For one thing, it's mindless and for another, it's huge.  I don't know what I was thinking.  This afghan is huge by my standards, measuring 48" x 66".  The kid is happy though, and that's what matters.

All week, while knitting, I kept thinking I was having hot flashes.  That was until it dawned on me that I have a ginormous pile of bulky, woolen afghan in my lap.  There is only so low I can set the air conditioner before freezing my family out.

It took 14 skeins Cascade 128 (Bulky: 100% Superwash Wool, 128 yards) of the main color, Deep Sapphire, plus one skein each of the Burgundy and White.

I turned the final corner of border.

Just when I thought I was done and my ends were all woven in, my husband suggests embroidering her initials onto the afghan.  He makes a good point, kind of like labeling your kid's belongings for camp.  But... I... was... done.  This is the kind of thing that lands me in procrastination station.

Happily I also finished my Noro Log Cabin Afghan.  I LOVE how this came out.  I'm psyched to see how other people's  afghans turn out in the class. The afghan measures 38" x 50", a perfect size.

I love both afghans and am super impressed that you were able to complete them over the summer! I'm almost finished with the blocks of my Noro Log Cabin. I love working on it and can't wait to snuggle in it this winter!
