Simple Elegance

The inspiration for this design was twofold.  The first, I like a lacy cover up to wear over a shell or tank top in the summer.  It's the perfect amount of coverage to ward off the chill of air conditioning and hide the "bingo wings" (as Thing #1 calls the less than firm upper arms).  The second, we have a yarn in the shop, Mirasol Nuna, that I have wanted to knit with since it came in.

Mirasol Nuna is a sport weight yarn, made up of a blend of fibers: 40% Silk, 40% Wool, 20% Bamboo, 191 yards.  It has a gorgeous shine and the promise of being beautifully drapey.

It also blocked out easily. This is a before blocking picture.

Here is the after blocking picture. See how the stitches open up?

Simple Elegance can be worn with the point in the front,

off to the side, or in the back.  Get the point? The lace stitch has an 8 row repeat that will enable you to read your stitches as you knit. It's knit flat, blocked, with one short seam to finish.  Then, Voila!  Simple Elegance.
