Is that a crochet hook in your pants or are you just happy to see me?
Joe started the day by asking me for a small crochet hook. He would only tell me why if I made him a cup of coffee. That's a small price to pay because I certainly don't think he's taking up crochet.
When I brought him his coffee I saw that he was using the hook to retrieve the drawstring in his shorts. In his defense, he knew that if he asked me to do it, it would end up at the end up at the bottom of a very large pile of like objects. My family outgrows clothes before I mend them. This is all part of my evil plan to teach them to mend their own d@#mn clothes. Joe knew that I had the tools.
Here is the conversation that followed:
Joe: "I'm in trouble, the crochet hook is stuck in my pants."
Me: "There's a sentence you don't hear often."
Then it deteriorated to:
Joe: "Is that a crochet hook in your pants or are you just happy to see me?"
Me: I just burst out laughing!
Joe: "Sometimes I even amaze myself".
Harry is nonplussed by the whole event.
