Show & Tell

I hadn't seen Lois in a while, she was working on her chunky cabled scarf by Lynn Wilson. She's doing very well. The only problem today was that the need to change skeins occurred just as the cable was supposed to take place. Things got a little muddled and she missed a cable row.
Bethany, who only learned to knit two weeks ago, has just about finished the second strip of a baby afghan. It alternates three colors and blocks of stockinette and garter. Today she learned how to bind off and how to sew the strips together using the mattress stitch. Very impressive!
Sherry brought in several projects for show and tell. I'm starting with my favorite of the four. This is her Entrelac Koigu Scarf by Dina Mor knit in Great Adirondack Smoochie and also Plymouth Happy Feet. It is totally stunning!
In this cowl, Sherry took a pattern stitch that was done in stripes of color (in a cowl from Cowlgirls) and kept it simple in one color.
A seed stitch cowl done in Cascade Baby Alpaca Chunky.
This is going to be the Destroyed Cowl by Martha Merzig. The yarn is Lang Lanalux.
Lauren brought her mother, Helen, on Friday. She hadn't knit in 5 years and brought the baby blanket she had started back then. She thought there was a mis-stitch somewhere (which was part of the reason she had put it down).

Helen needed a refresher to get it going again. She picked it up right away, thus proving my theory that the hands remember what the brain has seemingly forgotten. Not only that, she was able to do her cables with relative ease. Always great to see people get their knitting groove on.
