While visiting Westport Yarns, Sunaina caught sight of this sweater. It was part of the Vogue Knitting Early Fall Trunk Show; #20 Eyelet Pullover. There was something magical about being able to try on the sample and have it fit so well. She decided to take on the challenge and is knitting it in Sublime Baby Cashmere Merino Silk DK, a beautiful yarn.She took the time to write out the lace pattern and set about swatching and learning the pattern. (All admirable steps in the process.) She learned the SSK's and yo's. For some reason the stitch count was off and the lace wasn't lining up. Turned out she had omitted a yarn over in her written directions.
It was at this point that she declared this project to be a "suicide mission" and that it was going to take prayer and perseverance on her part and patience on my part. Once she was working off the correct instructions, things fell into place.
Linda on the other hand was swatching for the Plymouth Eva Kimono #1530 which she is knitting in Cashmere Merino Silk Aran.
She came prepared with her swatch (look how neat her stitches are). She was able to begin knitting her sweater straight away. When she learned that the first 5" were all knit in garter, she was ready to sit back and knit, relaxed. Incidentally, Sunaina is knitting the same sweater for her mother and Lois tried on the sample at the store and is going to make it too.
Sherry finished the motif border of the Turnberry Cardigan by Drew Emborsky she's crocheting in Lorna's Laces Pearl yarn. The body of the sweater is crocheted on top of the motifs. It's going to be stunning.
She finished her Tunisian scarf in Trendsetter Gavi (the yarn that she felt built character). The reverse single crochet edge border really finishes it off nicely.
