Lucas comes to Stitch and Chat

Yeah! Claudia came to visit and brought Lucas to his first Stitch and Chat. He is such a cutie, and a big guy in 6 mo. clothes (he's only 2 1/2 months old). I got to hold him for a while, what a great baby fix. Claudia said he loves the blanket we made him and is wearing all his wonderful hand knits.
The Modern Quilt Wrap by Mags Kandis (the pattern can be obtained as a free download from Knitting Daily) continues! One square needed to be straightened out. Otherwise the meter-mitered square lives on. Check out Folk Style: Innovative Designs to Knit, Including Sweaters, Hats, Scarves, Gloves and More (Style series), the book the Modern Quilt Wrap first appeared in, there are 4 or 5 patterns that I liked.
Here are a couple more squares Mary has worked on. The squares are from 200 Crochet Blocks for Blankets, Throws, and Afghans: Crochet Squares to Mix and Match. The bottom one is the same square that Michelle and I spent so much time on last week. Mary chose not to work from the written pattern too and used the picture as a guide instead.
Mary worked on the shell stitch square on her own and it's coming along well. This is one of my favorite stitches. She decided to start a square called "quartet". There really isn't a written pattern, only a grid. When Mary commented that she just had to follow the grid, Judi laughed because there are grids, and there are GRIDS!

Judi is making progress with her detailed crocheted afghan. Her cousin sent it to her and Judi thinks she wants to finished afghan. Not likely! This is a lot of work, maybe she can touch it when it's finished.
