It was quiet when I first got to stitch and chat. I was working on my lace cashmere sweater; I'm trying to get the pattern to sit well above the armhole shaping. I've taken it out several times and the cashmere yarn is beginning to bloom!
Michelle is starting her holiday knitting. She worked up a gauge for a pair of men's socks in Heirloom Argyle sock yarn. We used the charts in Charlene Schurch's Sensational Socks to pick the size and pattern to knit. Her books are a great resource for sock patterns.
Her crocheted border was done on the dressed up tank. She decided to finish sewing it at home. I hope she wears it next time we meet. (Hint...Hint).
Michelle gave Claudia the Baby Bunting pattern by "Designs by Louise". It's a great pattern knit in bulky yarn and has a place for the car seat buckle to go through.
Claudia made terrific progress on her Baby Icelandic Sweater by Lynn Wilson Designs. Her knitting is very even and the color changes are smooth. She got a little frustrated when she reached the sleeves. They are done on double pointed needles. I had to take away the pointy sticks and start it over, there was one extra stitch and one twisted stitch that looked like an extra.
Robin was also working sleeves on double pointed needles for her top down baby sweater. She learned how to pick up stitches for the neckline. The sweater is so cute in Artyarns supermerino yarn.
And at the end of the day, there was a beautiful sunset.
