When you have a minute, I have something to show you.

It was great to be back after my vacation. Everyone brought so many projects to share, I didn’t know where to start.

Elizabeth is working on ankle socks that she’s knitting with Berroco Comfort DK and shibui sock yarn. The gusset shaping was off on the second sock – it was a mystery for a while. Turns out she hadn’t knit the heel flap long enough so they weren’t enough sts in the gusset. I love how she broke up the colors in the sock.
She brought some Lopi pattern books with interesting patterns. On the last page of the booklet was this picture.
So dog clothes are one thing, horse sweaters?Z Elizabeth suggested it be Mary’s next project. Unfortunately Mary doesn’t like horses.

Claudia finished her baby blanket, it looks fantastic.
Next up for her is a striped baby hat knit in Knit One Crochet Too Baby Boo. The pattern calls for knitting it flat, she’s decided to knit it in the round instead. She had to knit a mock circular gauge. She was not a happy camper! Thankfully she got gauge first time around. Mock circular gauges are not fun.
I shared with her a technique to keep the stripes even. After knitting the first round of a color change, slip the marker for the second row pick up the stitch below the first stitch and put it on the left hand needle so that on the left hand needle you have the old color and the new color. Knit those two sts together and it will keep the stripes even.
Robin was bouncing between projects, baby blanket, booties, and top down baby sweater. We walked through the top down pattern and the part coming up where she breaks for the sleeves. She’ll have to do a knitted cast on (it’ll come out nicer than the ez wrap). She’s knitting it in Artyarns supermerino yarn.
Mary was without her magic knitting bag having come straight from a weekend away. She reached the armholes on the dressed up tank, now she can finish the armhole shaping and move onto the crochet parts.
Michelle finished up her first catch a wave sock. It looks beautiful. The second one is under way.
It makes me so happy to see my sock pattern knit up.

She began her baby blanket knit in Sublime Organic Cotton DK. The pattern is a house pattern from Knitting Central. Every time I feel how the yarn knits up I'm pleasantly reminded how soft it it.

On our way out, Mary surprised me with these great earrings! I love them and put them on right away. That was such a thoughtful gift.
