Back to School Shopping

My youngest and I went back to school shopping. Not a task I totally enjoy. I brought a sock to knit to occupy me as we went from trendy shop to trendy shop. All things considered, she was pretty reasonable. She kept telling me the only thing she really wanted were these sneakers that were all the rage.

Well, I could pick out which ones they were from way down the corridor. They stuck out like a sore thumb. They are the ugliest things I've ever seen. In fact, when the sales guy asked if he could help us, I replied, "yes, please talk her out of the g-d awful shoes". I did let her get them. Not a significant battle in the scheme of things. What's amazing to me is that all teens and 20 somethings tell me this shoes shoes are really hot.

I haven't been to high school or college since Jurrasic Park High - but I have to admit, I'm really digging the sneakers. I like em!
I bet if you could come up with some funky socks to go with them!

You know, I hadn't thought of that. I could get some really neon colors and make quite the pair socks! Thanks for the idea, Beverly!
