Tuesday Stitch and Chat

Cornelia has changed the name of her current customfit sweater from desert sunset to forest fire because of the colors. She's well into the back. The fronts will have the ribbed borders built into the fabric of the front rather than picking up for the borders.  We calculated how much ribbing she wants for the fronts. Yarn: Plymouth Gina (Worsted: 100% Wool, 109 yards).

Mary learned the lace bind off: *Knit 2 sts together through the back loop (k2togtbl), place that stitch back on left hand needle*; repeat from * to * to the end. This makes a more elastic bind off. She's working on the Azel poncho. Then she picked up stitches for the turtleneck. Yarn: Plymouth Cannoli (Super Bulky: 53% Wool, 47% Acrylic, 55 yards).

She went the wrong way on her Easy Breezy dress. She knit some stitches on a purl row. I took it out and set it to rights. Yarn: CoBaSi Plus (Worsted: 55% Cotton, 21% Nylon, 16% Bamboo, 8% Silk, 177 yards).

Lisa is well into the back of her customfit in Blue Sky Fibers Extra (Aran: 55% Alpaca, 45% Merino, 218 yards).

Today she cast on for the Westport Yarns Suede shawl and learned how to work a knit front back (kfb) increase. Yarn:  (Worsted: 100% Nylon, 120 yards).

Eleanor is back from her travels to Portugal.  Unfortunately she didn't see anyone knitting Portuguese style and she had the camera ready! She is working on her Cameo shawl/wrap. Every now and then she mis-knits a garter stitch or drops a stitch and finds it hard to remedy.  I used the fix it tool to fix the errant stitches.

Book Recommendation: The Chilbury Ladies' Choir.
