If it's awkward, it's right.

 Elizabeth finished her Coraline sweater. It's really lovely.  Her buttons are Moving Mud.

Seeing Sunaina's Noro Log Cabin Afghan last week motivated Elizabeth to bring out her Mitered Square Afghan. The yarns she's using are Silk Garden Chunky (discontinued) and Noro Retro for the border (also discontinued). She was debating whether or not to go down a needle.  We thought not, it would've made it too dense. 

Elizabeth is determined to finish her Postwar Mittens.  Unfortunately they are coming out too small.  They will either go to her mother's charity auction or her grandson.  The jury is out.

She's sorted her existing works in progress and planned projects into a working queue to work her way through the back log.

I think this summer I want to try my hand at stranded mittens (I couldn't resist the pun).  There are some gorgeous patterns out there. I did a quick filtered search and here's what I found. That may be on this summers knit list.

Sunaina found this really cool Row Counter Ring. She said she got hers on Amazon, but I couldn't find that link.  I don't know anything about the link I shared, it just came up when I did a search.

She was ready to learn the kitchener stitch for grafting her borders in her Log Cabin Afghan.  At first she said "she was doing everything I warned her against".  I don't take any pleasure in that, I can assure you.

After she settled down into working the stitch, she got the hang of it. She remarked how awkward kitchener stitch is.  We agreed that there are many instances in knitting (and probably other things) that if it feels awkward, it's right.

Cookie was working on another crocheted hat and really concentrating on getting the stitch count right at the end of each round.  It's a tricky business.

Michelle texted a knitting question to me during our group. Elizabeth marks spring with Michelle's return from winter hibernation.

Final philosophical (knitting) thought for the day, 'you know you have achieved success in your knitting when you can knit and talk at the same time (without making mistakes)'.
