I'm nearing completion on 2 sweaters with 1 runner-up.
Year 1: The treads on the interchangeable needle I was using were worn and I had to wait for a replacement needle.
Year 2: I had put the replacement needle in too safe a place and couldn't find it.
Year 3: I wasn't motivated to do a serious search for said needle.
Year 4: While taking eminent domain over my dining room as a knitting studio I found the replacement needle and married it to the hibernating project. I ran a life line in my knitting before starting. Why? You may ask. Because my gauge could've changed in the past 4 years and I wanted to play it safe. As it turns out, I was knitting ever so slightly looser. Not enough to change needles and reknit what I had already accomplished.
Picked out my buttons today and hope to get a couple of wearings out of it before the Fashion Police are out scouting for rebellious people wearing white after Labor Day.
This is for the "Design Your Own Top Down Sweater Class" that begins in mid-September. I'm already plotting for another design and a different neckline and maybe set in sleeves instead of raglan.
Thinking ahead, I want to a lace project next and another top down. What will come after the Gypsy?
