Week in Review

Yay! Elizabeth knit the socks I designed in Knitting Socks with Handpainted Yarn, the pattern is the Zig Zag Anklet Socks. She also knit this scarf in Misti Alpaca Sock Yarn, the pattern is the Leaf Lace Scarf by Jane D. Russell. Today I went over Judy Becker's Magic Cast On so she could begin the Punctuated Rib Socks from the same book.
Joanne joined us this week. She started out with a pattern for a top down raglan cardigan to knit for her granddaughter. When we looked over the pattern, we agreed that bottom up would be a much better idea for a first sweater. She's knitting with soft purple cotton yarn (I forgot to write down what it is). In one session, she got cast on and past the ribbing. I think her goal is a month from now.
Judy's crocheted afghan is coming along, she's onto the second graph. You can see the bird and the flowers look beautiful.
Linda is knitting two Wonderful Wallaby sweaters for two of her grandchildren. Today she fused the second pocket. She's working on the sleeves for the first. She's knitting with her mother's stash yarn. Considering she hasn't knit in a long time, she's doing a great job.

My daughter's "taco" socks are nearly done. If she hadn't wanted knee socks they'd be done now. I told her they will only be as high as the current ball of yarn allows, then I'm done. They are bound to be knee socks on someone! I'm knitting them 2 @ a time, toe up, on 2 circulars in Artyarns Supermerino yarn.
Mary, Michelle, and Robin are taking a Baby Lovie class at Knitting Central. Here are their works in progress. Michelle's is pink and knit in Berroco Comfort. Mary's is yellow and knit in Muench My Family. Next class they make the stuffed animal head.
Mary helped Michelle out by sewing on the buttons to the beautiful Blue Sky Baby Dress Michelle knit in Twinkle Cruise.
