Let the Spinning Wheel Turn

This week Knitting Central is having a trunk show and spinning demonstration by Trish from Tanglewood Fiber Creations. She'll be at the store tomorrow from 12-4. There was a fantastic turnout for the event and the store was buzzing all day as customers enjoyed the yarn and discussed creative garments and accessories that they could knit with it.

Trish spins wonderful luxuriant fibers together to create truly unique yarns. There is cashmere, merino, silk, yak, and several blended yarns. The colors are just beautiful. To see pictures of just some of the yarns she brought click here to read an earlier post about Tanglewood Fiber Creations.

It was really interesting to watch her spin and hear her explain the process. The pedals generate the energy that flows through the spinning wheel and creates the kinetic energy that spins the yarn.
