Save the Children has started a new campaign, "Knit One, Save One". The plan is to have people knit and crochet hats for babies through age 5.
People have started coming into Knitting Central with the patterns (knit or crochet), wanting to get yarn, etc. to make hats.
The last time Save the Children did a hat campaign, I was working at Knit Together in Stamford. I offered to bring the hats to Save the Children. What I saw when I got there was awe inspiring. There were hats from the floor to ceiling from knitters/crocheters all over the country. It really touched me, this great outpouring from knitters/crocheters and the strength we have when working toward a common goal.
