During the session, she knit the button band and made button holes for the first time. She made a very good observation. A lot of the knitting techniques she's been learning are only "hard and intimidating" until she does them. Then they're not so bad. She doesn't even mind the double points.
In between finishing these projects, she knit a gauge for the Minnow Knits pattern #184QK, Cotton Roll Sweater. She's knitting it in Tahki Torino Worsted. Her gauge was perfect and she is cleared to knit! I do have to say that it made me smile when she asked why the swatch was rolling. (Cotton Roll Sweater).
There were so many projects on the table today, we are all definitely multi-tasking our projects.
Mary finished her Dressed Up Tank since we last met. Unfortunately, she forgot to bring it. The reason, though, is a good one. She remembered me saying that she should block it and lay it flat. Well, she had a very creative interpretation my words. She thought that the sweater needed to be really flat and so she lay it down under her sofa cushions so when her (200 lb) sons sat on the sofa, it would surely flatten the sweater. :) I just love how Mary's mind works, she never ceases to make me smile. She's going to check on the sweater and see if it needs more conventional blocking.
She took my Flap Happy Hat at Knitting Central on Monday and knit up to the crown. She's knitting the hat in Sonrisa, a very cheerful cotton blend. I'm knitting mine in Plymouth Jelli Beanz. We're both making the smallest size for baby gifts.
Michelle began the border of her Sublime Organic DK Cotton blanket. She may knit her grandson a sweater with the leftover yarn, omitting the pink and substituting green. The yarn is so soft.
I also found the link for the Highlighter tape.
Elizabeth shared her grandson's top Knitting Pure & Simple bulky cardigan. I like how the collar is coming out.
There also was a highly animated conversation about the newest Dancing with the Stars. They definitely peaked my interest. I've never watched Dancing with the Stars. Fortunately ABC has them online, click here if you want to catch up . I know I do.
