It's an After Thought
I finished knitting the Gypsy Shell, by c2knits, this week. The sweater fits nicely. Other than weaving in ends, there is barely any finishing involved which is a beautiful thing.
My favorite top down book is Custom Knits by Wendy Bernard. She has very thorough instructions. As the name implies, she explains how to customize your knitting to suit you.
I have 3 skeins left of yarn. What am I going to do with 3 skeins of Bonsai? I decided to knit after thought sleeves. It is really cool. Wendy spells out how to determine how many stitches to pick up and where to set up markers for shaping. Using short-rows, you knit the cap and then continue in the round for the rest of the sleeve. I'm not sure how long I'm going to make the sleeves. I may just knit until I run out of yarn. There is a cute tiny ruffle on the bottom of the Gypsy Shell that I think I'm going to add to the sleeves.
The knit goes on.

I love this shell, maybe partly due to the color. What is the yarn content?
Love, Mom
