With the coming of August I think about back to school, and with that - the changing of the seasons. That's when we all perk up and think about warm wools and sumptuous fiber blends. We are getting inundated with new yarns at Westport Yarns and it's nearing time to shift gears! I know I'm starting to think of what transitional things I can knit.
Robin finished her Twist and Shout infinity scarf in a ribbon by Ellyn Cooper's Yarn Sonnets. It looks so good in the jewel tones colors. I'm so glad she likes how it came out. It looks awesome.
Because she was at loose ends for knitting projects until we met up for the sock, she went back to her Plymouth Kimono and made significant progress. I think she'll finish the back this fall for sure!
Robin swatched for a slipper sock she's knitting for her husband in Araucania Panguipulli. Not only was she was swatched and ready for me, she knit a mock circular swatch to boot (shoe pun not intended). I love that! She loves that she gets to knit with her Stiletto double pointed needles.
And, a sock is born.
Mary finished her Insight Crocheted Vest from the class she took with me at Westport Yarns. She did an awesome job. The yarn is Shibui Heichi. Outstanding!Lois began the neck shaping for her lace sweater. There's some short rows in the pattern so we're going to work on that next week.
She started the Mitered Cross Blanket in with Noro yarns. She has a softly hued multi for the main color and a rich brick color for the contrast color.
Lauren finished her second Alpaca cowl today. A job well done. Now she plans to focus on the ribbed scarf she is knitting in Rowan Lima and maybe start another project.
